Phew, the first few weeks itinerary is confirmed:
March 10 Bangkok, Thailand
March 12 Kathmandu, Nepal
March 16 Pokhara, Nepal
March 19 Kathmandu, Nepal
March 21 Bangkok, Thailand
March 25 Chiang Mai, Thailand
From March 28, which is Sue's birthday btw, we may move on to Laos and Vietnam. But who knows, we may decide to stay longer in Thailand. This holiday is definitely not about rushing place to place on a timetable.
Going to Nepal, third time for me and the first for Sue, is going to be a highlight. I love the place. No mountaineering this time but there's so much to see in the Kathmandu Valley. And who knows, we could decide to take the flight and do an overnight in Lukla (2860m). Not a bad idea actually, a bit of an altitude test for Sue if we decide to go to Lhasa (3500m) in Tibet.
If you don't know of the Lukla airport, saying it's exciting is a huge understatement. There's a gazillion Lukla videos on YouTube, here's a couple of them:
