We flew Vietnam Airlines from Hue to Ha Noi this morning. The flight left 10 minutes early and arrived in Ha Noi a full half hour early. Unheard of!
We're in a different hotel this time, the Hanoi Sunshine Suites, on the opposite side of the Old Quarter, which is a much better location. And how could you not like a hotel with a Tardis in the bathroom? Don't ask, we never did totally work it out.
I didn't think much of Ha Noi on our first visit, but I've changed my mind. The Old Quarter has lots of character and characters. Lunching at a local cafe, New Day, swung the balance. Great food, cheap, packed with locals, noisy and frantic. Loved it.
And you see people who've set up shop and prepare your food on the footpath.
You see ninjas. The young ladies here really hate the sun, they want the white skin.
We had a great meal at the Gecko Cafe tonight but they don't seem to have fully grasped the concept of vegetarianism.
