Sa Pa - North Vietnam

Off the bus from Ha Long Bay, a quick shower then into a taxi to Hanoi Railway Station for the sleeper train to Lao Cai in a province bordering China. The train station was crazy, so crazy that the hotel sent one of the bell boys with us to help out. It could have been a nightmare. The only photo I got was was when the train was about to leave, so it all looks calm.

The sleepers were pretty basic. Our cabin partners were a couple of young Canadian guys. They were good value and were up for a few beers and some travel stories.

Lao Cai station. Mooo...

And the chaos outside.

We were collected by the bus for the ride up the hill to Sa Pa. The rain camein every morning but cleared by 9am just in time for our trekking. It was hot and humid.

The view from our room at the Cat Cat View hotel was spectacular.

Sa Pa is a town full of colour and character.

We're looking forward to 3 days of walking around the tribal villages.
